Tailor is a drag-and-drop page builder tool you can use to customize page and post layouts on your WashU Web Theme site.
Tailor allows you to create custom page layouts using elements. Drag individual elements onto a page and arrange them to achieve a desired layout. No coding required!
Some elements, such as billboards and cards, provide a visual packaging for your content, whereas others allow you to dynamically embed additional content, such as people, places, items and posts.

Billboard
Billboards place your content over a field of color (choose from red, gray, turquoise and yellow). They’re great for visually breaking up text-heavy pages using testimonials, quotations, section headers and other high-impact content.

Box

Box with image
If you have small chunks of content, try arranging it in boxes! Boxes look best with similar kinds of content, arranged side-by-side in rows of two or three.
Button
Buttons make critical calls to action stand out from other content on a page. A button can be styled one of two ways — primary and outline — depending on the context and purpose. Click any button below to see the tutorial.

Another outline button:
(Lesson one: Don’t line up three buttons like we did here .)
Card
I’m a card
Like boxes, cards organize related bits of information side-by-side. However, cards overlay the element’s title on a field of color or background image (here we used background colors).
I, too, am a card
Cards are more visual than boxes, but if you decide to include images behind the title, the card’s text overlay constrains your options.

Content
The content element places a section of text on a page. Use it for your main page content and wherever you need to intersperse a header, paragraph, bullet points or other text (like this!) between Tailor elements.
Place two content elements side-by-side to create columns.
(Just check that text doesn’t wrap awkwardly and the height is similar.)
Like many Tailor elements, the content element is edited using the visual and text editor.

List
List items like this
The list element is useful for presenting high-level stages of a process.
Lists can be used instead of bullet points
Each list item includes either an icon, number or graphic (we used numbers here), as well as a title and content block.
The content block can include multiple paragraphs.
- And
- bullet points
- too!
This makes lists ideal for complex, chronological content
PPI: Individual (people, places and items)
“PPI” elements insert posts created as a person, place or item. You can select an individual/single post, like the place post below, or you can select a list, as the next section (PPI list) shows.

PPI: List (people, places and items)
When you add a PPI list to a page, you have several options, including which people, places and items posts to show, the number of posts to display, the layout and more. The list below shows three “place” posts in grid view.

Posts
Use posts to embed news or blog posts on a page. You can show all posts or select a specific category or tag. You’ll also choose how many posts to show and in what layout. (Showing below is grid view, two posts per row, category limited to medicine & health.)
